Chelsea told to make approach for 24-goals in 37-games forward

Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas has urged Man Utd and Chelsea to target Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard during the summer transfer window.

French attacker Edouard has developed into a vital player for Scottish giants since signing from Ligue 1 defending champions, PSG back in 2018.

The 22-year-old is having a stunning season, founding back of the net 24 goals in 37 games, and Nicholas is adamant he would be a welcome addition to Premier League giants Man Utd and Chelsea.

English giants have been heavily linked with moves for former Celtic forward Moussa Dembele this year, however, Nicholas claims they should target his Celtic team-mate Edouard instead following his impressive form at the club.

‘Odsonne Edouard is good enough to go and play at a Chelsea or a Manchester United,’ former Arsenal, Celtic and Scotland striker Nicholas told the Daily Express.

‘I say that with some confidence. I think he could go into both their squads and make a real impact.

‘That is how much ability he has. It is up to him how far he wants to go in his career. The sky’s the limit.

‘Why have I picked these clubs? Because they have both been linked with his former Celtic striker partner Moussa Dembele in recent months.

‘For me, Edouard is a better footballer than the Lyon striker and his fellow Frenchman.

‘He is absolutely nailed on to win the player of the year award in my opinion.’

Celtic are braced for offers for 22-year-old forward and manager Neil Lennon reveals he is unsure whether Celts will be able to keep him at the club after the summer transfer window.

‘He is super-talented,’ Lennon said. ‘He could play in the Premier League and Champions League, no question, with the form he is in.

‘I don’t know [if we can keep him].”
