Chelsea holding talks with the Serie A club to sign 23-year-old prolific forward

Chelsea are holding talks this week about possible to lure Jeremie Boga back at Stamford Brdige from Sassuolo, according to reports.

The 23-year-old attacker was sold to Sassuolo in 2018 after managing to make only one senior appearance for the Blues and spending most of his career with them on loans.

The Blues chief Marina Granovskaia sanctioned the transfer, however, the Express reports that the Blues are now considering to lure him at Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Frank Lampard was bitterly disappointed when the Blues failed to make any new addition during the winter transfer window and Boga could be the man drafted in this summer.

The 23-year-old has been in impressive form in Serie A, founding back of the net seven times in the Italian top-tier and chipping in with two assists.

Chelsea inserted a buy-back clause in his current deal and could re-sign him as little as £12.7m and talks this week are expected to clarify where he continues his career next season.

‘Chelsea can redeem Boga in June,’ Carnevali confirmed.

‘We have a great relationship with the club and we met them before Christmas – also for other business.

‘They can take him back but we can also re-sign him, everything is open.’

Boga was barely given a chance to impress at Stamford Bridge and he revealed that he would love to make the chiefs know that they made mistake by offloading him.

‘Leaving Chelsea was a shame,’ he said. ‘Aside from that, I have no regrets.

‘Each thing comes into its own time. It was certainly not the time for me to play for Chelsea.

‘I always keep that in the corner of my head. If I continue to do what I am doing, maybe I will be back one day.’
