Premier League giants Chelsea have reportedly made fresh contact with Lyon regarding over the future of Moussa Dembele who has been rumoured with an exit from Ligue 1 since the last summer.
Despite expressing an interest in the former Fulham and Celtic forward earlier in January, the West London club were informed by Lyon that the 23-year-old is not for sale.
That seemingly led to Frank Lampard’s side targeting a move for Edinson Cavani, who has less than six months left before his deal expires with Paris Saint-Germain.
However, with the Uruguay international more likely to sign for La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, The Sun reports that the Blues have attempted to re-open discussions regarding Dembele.
The report claims that the West Londoners are open to offering £45m for the former Fulham man, a slight increase to their previous £43m bid.
Dembele has been in fine form for Lyon this season as he has managed to found back of the net 11 times in 19 appearences in the French top-tier during the current season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud has been linked with an exit from the Stamford Bridge with West Ham United and Inter Milan are keen on to secure the services of former Arsenal man before the end of the January transfer window.
