Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for newly-promoted Aston Villa.
Ampadu was starved of first-team opportunities this season, making just three starts and two substitute outings for the Blues in all competitions. The 18-year-old still has four years remaining on his contract, although Chelsea are aware that the teenager requires more senior football.
According to The Guardian, Villa are considering whether to use one of their two domestic loan transfers on the Wales international.
The West Midlands outfit are planning on making significant moves in the transfer market this summer as they look to build on their return to the top flight.
Ampadu’s versatility could aid Dean Smith’s efforts, with the player being able to feature at both centre-back and in central midfield.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing up a move to land Bournemouth defender and reported Chelsea target Nathan Ake as a successor for Belgium international Toby Alderweireld.
A British tabloid newspaper the Sun is reporting that Spurs are interested in a summer deal to sign the Netherlands international but could face heavy competition from Nathan’s former club Chelsea.
The same article claims that Spurs are the frontrunners to land Ake despite his previous stint at Stamford Bridge after Bournemouth purchased the Dutch star in a cut-price £20 million deal in 2017.
Bournemouth star could command a transfer sum in the region of £40 million, following his impressive performances during the season, if the Cherries management decide to sell the 24-year-old star this summer transfer window.
