According to the Spanish media outlets, Atletico Madrid have reportedly joined Chelsea in the transfer race to sign Ajax forward David Neres in the summer transfer window.
Neres has managed to found back of the net 12 times and provided 15 assists in 50 games for Ajax during the 2018-19 season where he led the team to claim the Eredivisie trophy and play Champions League semi-finals.
Liverpool and Chelsea have both been rumoured with moves for the 22-year-old forward in the summer, however, according to AS, Spanish giants are also keen on a deal for the Brazil international, who has been a key player to win the cup double this term, in addition to Ajax’s success in the Champions League.
Diego Simeone’s side are expected to have a fairly sizeable transfer budget in the summer with Antoine Griezmann is believed to leave the club for £100m when he departs from the Wanda Metropolitano Atletico will make an addition to cover the gap that will be left after his possible transfer to Barcelona.
Neres, who made his Brazil debut back in March, has joined Dutch giants from Sao Paulo in January 2017 and is believed to be valued at £50m.
