Serie A outfits Atalanta are working on a deal to secure a permanent contract for on-loan Chelsea playmaker Mario Pasalic.
According to Calcio Mercato, the Italian side are keen to make his loan move permanent as Pasalic has become a vital part of Atalanta’s starting XI.
Atalanta are currently 4th in the Italian top-tier and look set to secure a place for the Champions League next campaign, ahead of the likes of Lazio AS Roma and AC Milan.
Pasalic has made the switch to Chelsea back in 2014 for a reported £3m transfer fee, however, has not made a single first-team appearance for the West London club thus far.
This is his fifth loan for Pasalic since his transfer to Stamford Bridge, with moves to Elche in Spain, Spartak Moscow in Russia, Monaco in France, and both Atalanta and Ac Milan in Italy.
The report suggested that Atalanta do have the option to secure services of Pasalic permanently for a fee in the region of €15m.
Meanwhile, Chelsea loanee Tiemoue Bakayoko is reportedly considered to leave Serie A giants AC Milan after a racial abuse in Italy.
Bakayoko is on a season-long loan with Italian heavyweights, who were believed to be keen on making his move permanent at San Siro for a fee of £30m.
However, the 24-year-old star was subjected to alleged racist abuse by AC Milan rivals Lazio fans during Coppa Italia’s semi-final at San Siro.
