According to the Italian media, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to sack Maurizio Sarri after the Blues’s Europa League final against Arsenal.
During his first season in the Premier League, Maurizio Sarri finished third but after losing to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final, the former Napoli boss still has the chance to win silverware this season if his men beat Arsenal on May 29 in Baku.
The 60-year-old Sarri will still have two years left on his contract deal with Chelsea, but the reports from Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Roman Ambramovich is ready cut short the Italian’s time at Stamford Bridge.
It is believed that Abramovich’s decision is not based on Chelsea’s achievements this season but are centered around Sarri’s poor relationship with the club’s fans.
Thruought the season, Chelsea fans chanted ‘f*** Sarri-ball’ following the poor decisions regarding substitutions by the iconic Italian manager.
The same sources also suggest that Sarri is ‘not loved’ by Roman Abramovich and the Italian’s decision to openly criticise the club’s post-season friendly against New England Revolution in the United States has not gone down well with Chelsea’s hierarchy.
However, Mauzirio Sarri still has the chance to change Abramovich’s mind regarding his future, if he succeeds to beat their London rivals Arsenal in Europa League final against on May 29.
