Everton head-coach Marco Silva hopes that the team’s recent upturn in form can convince Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma who has been at the Merseyside club set to remain at Goodison Park for Permanent basis.
The French defender has been a mainstay in the Merseyside Blues side this campaign and has impressed alongside with Michael Keane, however, his form for the team makes it tougher to sign him permanently.
The Blues transfer ban this summer complicates matters, and Marco Silva will hope that the Blues allow him to remain at Everton, should Zouma wish to move to Merseyside club on a permanent basis.
With the transfer ban likely to restrict the West London club from securing the services of the players this summer, the team aren’t likely to sanction many sales, with loan players sure to play a key role during next year’s season.
Talking about Everton’s chances to keep Zouma at Goodison Park as well as fellow loanee Andre Gomes, as reported by Telegraph Sport, Marco Silva said:
“There is always a chance but it is not just in our hands.
“They [Zouma and Gomes] are happy here, that is a good sign. That means they are performing, they are enjoying [their football] and they are also helping us.
“We are happy with them, that is true, and it is up to us to do what we shall do to try and keep them.
“It is not just in our hands, the players and their clubs have to decide together.
“At the right moment we will do something.”
