Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and Brighton and Hove Albion both reportedly want Chelsea defender Reece James.
Crystal Palace are willing to pay £10 million to sign the promising Chelsea defender Reece James this summer, according to the Sun.
The 19-year-old right-back has established himself as one of English football’s most exciting defenders this season, starring on loan at Wigan Athletic and earning rave reviews in the Championship.
As a result, Chelsea face a challenge holding onto James over the coming months. It is claimed that Crystal Palace are interested in signing the teenager but face competition from bitter rivals Brighton and Hove Albion, who won 2-1 at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
The Sun adds that the Eagles are considering a £10 million bid for James. The England U20 international could potentially have been identified as a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the homegrown rising star who has caught the eye of some of the biggest clubs both in England and abroad.
The report claims that Chelsea don’t want to lose one of their brightest prospects and are planning to send James on loan to one of Europe’s top clubs to help him hone his trade.
But, like fellow youngsters Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi, it seems his future is up in the air.
