Premier League duo Chelsea and Liverpool are both reportedly in the running to sign AS Monaco midfielder Khephren Thuram in this summer’s transfer window.
The 17-year-old has made two Champions League appearances for Monaco this term, but is yet to sign a professional contract with the Ligue 1 outfit.
According to the Daily Mail, Juventus have been keeping a close eye on the teenager’s development, but Chelsea and Liverpool are also very much in the race for the France youth international.
Khephren, who is the son of former Juventus, Barcelona and France defender Lilian Thuram, is yet to make a league appearance for the principality club this season.
Chelsea are currently preparing for the second leg of their Europa League knockout-round tie against Malmo on Thursday night, while Liverpool are next in action away to Manchester United in the league this weekend.
Meanwhile, Chelsea will look to sign Ivory Coast midfielder Franck Kessie in exchange for £40m flop Tiemoue Bakayoko.
France international Bakayoko only arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2017 from Monaco but is already being linked with a departure from the west London club.
The 24-year-old failed to convince former manager Antonio Conte of his abilities before being sent on a season-long loan last summer. After a slow start in Milan, Bakayoko is beginning to show his ability and has admitted he would be interested in making his loan move permanent at the end of the season.
Chelsea are open to the idea but, according to the Daily Star, they will try to sign Ivorian star Kessie as part of the deal.
