Chelsea £120,000-a-week forward eyes summer exit as he refuses to agree new deal

Willian is struggling to agree a new contract at Chelsea and is reported to be considering leaving the club.

The Brazilian was the subject of transfer interest from PSG on Deadline Day, with the Ligue 1 club viewing him as a temporary replacement for the injured Neymar.

However, Chelsea held firm as they look to secure Champions League football for next season with Willian viewed as an important player under the Sarri regime.

The 30-year-old has played in 23 of Chelsea’s 24 Premier League games under Sarri’s management, proving himself as key player in the current side which the club do not want to lose.

According to Brazilian outlet UOL, the Blues have offered the player a one-year contract extension on his existing deal which is due to expire in 2020.

However, Willian wants a three-year deal, but given Chelsea’s policy of only offering players over the age of 30 one-year contracts, he looks unlikely to have his demands met.

But the forward remains confident he will receive a lucrative deal from the likes of Barcelona or PSG if he can’t acheive his demands at the Stamford Bridge.
